My Life

First and foremost, let me introduce myself, Chris Banks, a.k.a C-Fury; Founder and Owner of X - IT INC./BF Recordings LLC. Let me take you on a journey into my life, my story, my trials and tribulations. From a young boy, at the age of 12, just loving everything there was to love about Hip Hop,the beat, the lyrics, the delivery, and the different stories shared by each individual artist. From being involved in a cypher on Arlington Bridge or corner. From watching my older brothers and friends flow, to the DJ spinning the Vinyl( the album or record) to the oohh's and ahh's when you may have said something catchie, or slick, or just untouchable. Thats what I stayed around, thats what I grew up to know. My family didn't have much of anything, but we had a table with three good legs and a book holding up the fourth one,lol. And our hands to make what we considered a dope beat on that very table, and us in the house free styling, my brothers Chill, and Biz, and those they might have considered friends at the time.

I wasn't given much shine until during the time I should say the year LL Cool J dropped "Im Bad". Now I was spittin before then but it was the way I would reinact the video on Arlington Bridge, at the basketball court, when my brother Biz would carry around a big boom box(radio) and he played LL song, and I knew every word and delivery. Later on that day they started another cypher, but this time I was the hidden card, the wild card, back then I was called Super C, because of my attitude and anger, when brought upon, would fuel my strength, and that day when the cypher finally came around to B,( Biz) I took his turn, none of them knowing I was writing verses, and capable of freestyling. Their mouths just dropped and then a legend was born.

My family and I moved around alot in Jersey City, after my parents lost their home. But Arlington was always home to us, its where the heart is. Then finally with the help of my older brother Ray, my parents and those children who remained in their household, my two other brothers and me, my other siblings went out on their own. My mother and father total had ten kids, five boys, five girls. Times were hard and tough but our parents taught us the value of family and hard work and staying close together, by being there for one another.

But back to the story we were one of the first families to move to New Port, right across from the Mall 'WOW!' "lol". Those on the outside thought we were moving up "Like the Jeffersons", but we were still barely getting by, but it was our way of life, not by choice, that brought us up to be strong and independent, and determined, and leaders not followers, though my road was filled with alot of bumps,dead ends, off roads, theatrics, I always knew of the gifts I embodied, and the talents I possessed, I had a gift with words, with being able to express myself, and with that being said, my words would not only sadden me, but fuel me. Theres so much to share, but its being saved for my biography and movie. But I'll tell you this, from being shot down at a young age from a label, to doing my first ever talent show and wrongfully losing because I was too deep, and not to many people at my new school was a fan of Hip Hop. But no matter the setting or environment, Chris was and would til this day, will always be Chris. So if this short story touched you or grabbed your attention, so will both of my albums.
